Peer review policy
Franz Tamayo Journal is committed to maintaining high standards of quality and relevance in the selection of articles it publishes. This is achieved through the application of rigorous thematic and formatting guidelines that authors must strictly follow. The journal requires that submissions comply with these guidelines to ensure that the content fits the aims and focus of the publication. This careful attention to thematic and formatting requirements not only ensures that the articles comply with the journal's purpose but also contributes to its academic integrity by ensuring that only high-quality and relevant works in the field are published.
Furthermore, the implementation of a double-blind peer review process involving two external reviewers strengthens objectivity and impartiality in the evaluation of articles. By ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous during the review process, any potential favoritism based on identity or affiliation is eliminated. This practice reflects the journal's commitment to fairness and justice in the selection of articles, ensuring that decisions are based exclusively on academic merit and contribution to the field of study. Ultimately, Franz Tamayo Journal stands out as a reliable source of academic knowledge that promotes excellence in research and discussion within its area of focus.
Transparency and impartiality are key elements in the peer review process of Franz Tamayo Journal. The confidentiality and anonymity of the parties involved guarantee that submissions are evaluated fairly and without prejudice, which reinforces the journal's credibility and integrity. This rigorous approach to article selection and evaluation helps maintain the high standards of quality that readers and the academic community expect from the journal, setting its status as a reference source in its field of study.
The outcomes of this evaluation may include:
- Rejection of the article
- Resubmittable with major revisions
- Publishable with minor revisions
- Accepted
If case of disagreements between reviewers, a third reviewer will be consulted to help determine if the article should be published. The final decision will be made in a meeting of the Editorial Board, where the reviewers´ individual reports will be discussed and a definitive decision will be issued.
If the article is approved with corrections, the authors will be required to make the suggested changes and resubmit the article. These corrections will be verified through a second review by the original reviewers. If the corrections are not made within the stipulated timeframe, the article will be scheduled for publication in a later issue of the journal. The complete process, from the reception of the article to its acceptance, typically takes about six months.
Figure 1 provides a detailed description of the entire process mentioned above.
