Franz Tamayo is an academic publication of the Adventist University of Bolivia (UAB), which has been continuously published since January 2019, with a frequency of three issues per year in January, May, and September. Its primary mission is to promote the dissemination and analysis of scientific research at the international level in the field of Education and its various interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary disciplines, such as Philosophy, Pedagogy, History of Education, Preschool Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, and Higher Education. The journal publishes different types of articles: original research, review articles, essays, profiles, and book reviews, and it is aimed at researchers, educators, and anyone interested in the educational field and related disciplines.
The journal is inspired on Franz Tamayo, an influential Bolivian thinker, poet, and politician, whose notable work "The Creation of National Pedagogy" emphasizes the importance of an education firmly established in context and reality. Consequently, Franz Tamayo seeks to disseminate significant contributions across various aspects and levels of educational theory and practice, with a sociocritical, aesthetic, and humanistic focus, resulting from rigorous research and studies conducted by the academic community and education professionals.
The journal has two identification numbers (ISSN-L: 2710-088X) and (ISSN: 2710-088X). It is presented in digital format, with publications in Spanish and abstracts available in English to increase international accessibility. Each article is associated with a Digital Object Identifier System (DOI). All works published in Franz Tamayo are ruled by a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 license.
